Spider and Fly

Popped into Spider and Fly in Carlisle for a bite, and it was spot on! The place has such a cool vibe - modern but really relaxed. You can tell they’ve put thought into the decor without it being over the top. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Service was quick, and they checked in just the right amount without being pushy. The food? Amazing! I went for their signature burger, and it was absolutely banging - juicy, loaded with flavor, and cooked perfectly. My mate had the chicken wings, and they couldn’t stop raving about the sauce. Proper messy, but worth it! Drinks-wise, they’ve got something for everyone. I had a craft beer that hit the spot, and the cocktail my friend ordered looked like something out of a fancy bar in the city. If you’re in Carlisle and looking for a laid-back spot with great food and good vibes, Spider and Fly is a winner. Definitely going back!

The staff were friendly and attentive however due to my dietary needs, I phoned ahead to ask if they could adapt the menu, which they were happy to do. This was not followed through and my main ended up as mash and gravy. The kitchen declined to adapt the pudding. Very disappointed as usually restaurants are happy to adapt.
