Bassenthwaite Lake Station
We treated ourselves to a special Christmas Eve breakfast at Bassenthwaite Lake Station Café, and it was the most wonderful way to start the festivities.
I recently visited Bassenthwaite Lake Station and it was a truly unique experience! The setting is fantastic, with a beautifully restored train carriage that recreates the feel of being on the Orient Express. The attention to detail is impressive, from the vintage decor to the themed menu. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was excellent, with a good selection of dishes. Whether you're a railway enthusiast or just looking for somewhere different to dine, it’s a lovely spot to enjoy a meal in a memorable atmosphere.
Such a great cafe! I was lucky to be able to book a table on the train (used in the Murder on the Orient Express movie from 2017!) and it was such a lovely setting. The food was quick, tasty and leaving us wanting more. Give it a visit when you are in the area!
